should the leaf springs be attached and the car be sitting on the ground or should I attach the rear panel when the frame rails are disconnected from the springs and unloaded? When I put load on the frame rails they flex upward slightly and I'm wondering if this flexing would put stress on the body of the car if I attach the rails when there is no weight on them? When I'm attaching the frame rails to the rear panel, should I have any load on the rear frame rails? I.e.I now need to line up the frame rails with my home made bracket (a plate with four holes), the rear panel and the bumber brackets that goes on the outside of the rear panel.

As the original frame rails on my bird where completely disintegrated by rust, I've had to fabricate new rails including the brackets that attach the rails to the tail light panel. As mentioned I'm replacing virtually everything behind the doors and I know I need to fit both quarters and the tail light panel at the same time to make sure everything line up. I was working on fitting the new tail light panel this weekend and need some help. I'm in the middle of a complete renovation of my -74 Formula including both quarters, rear tail light panel, trunk floor, frame rails etc.
